When happens when an unstoppable force meets another unstoppable force? You end up with every Nike Air Jordan x Off White collaboration. The Jordan brand is based off of a strong foundation which has been building since 1985, whereas Off White exemplifies this new era being created in 2012. Because these two brands are extremely hyped it is recommended to try and purchase UA versions of the cheap air Jordan and cheap Jordan shoes instead of buying from a sneakerhead. These shoes when released cost a few hundred and by the time they get to resale they’re selling for thousands. One example of this is the Jordan 1 Retro High Off-White Chicago.
The Jordan 1 Retro High Off-White Chicago was released for around $190 depending on where you bought it from and they are now selling on sites like stock x for $4400. They come in typical Chico colors with a red upper, black Nike “Swoosh” cream midsole and red sole. The word “Air” is printed on the midsole of the shoe in the typical Off-white fashion. What makes these iconic shoes so valuable is that it was Virgil Abloh teamed up with the Jordan Brand.
Another awesome collab between Off-White and the Jordan Brand is the Jordan 1 Retro High Off-White University Blue. These come in a fairly simplistic blue and white color scheme with just small hints of orange to make the shoe pop. There are certain features to this shoe that will let everyone know from miles away that it is the work of both the Jordan Brand and Virgil Abloh. Obviously, it’s an Air Jordan 1 sneaker, there’s no mistaking that, but what gives it away as an Off-White collaboration is the deconstructed Nike “Swoosh” and the word “Air” in quotation marks. It’s very common for Off-White to take a universally known feature (The Nike Swoosh) and flip it on its head.
As a rule of thumb if you’re buying some Air Jordans you simply cannot go wrong by choosing an Off-White collaboration, they are almost guaranteed to maintain their value over time.
